About

Filly Brook as an idea started back in 2015 when we took over a very small space next to Leytonstone tube station and opened with 4 beer lines, some great wine, a record deck and a stack of vinyl. Our concept was simple; good beer, wine, music and coffee and everybody was welcome – it still holds true today.

Our pop-up was a success so we set about finding the right premises for a permanent home, a space big enough so we could expand our ideas and include more of what we loved. When the opportunity to take over Drill Hall (as our building is historically known) came up we knew we could make this the new home for Filly Brook. In fact the building sits just a few yards from where the hidden river of Leytonstone (the Filly/Philley/Fille Brook) still runs beneath our streets and from which we take our name.
