Music is a big part of what we do at Filly Brook and our audiophile sound system is an ongoing project. Across our two rooms we have various vintage Tannoy speakers, Ardens, Berkeleys and Little Reds, Bryston, Quad 405-2 and Crest amps, Technics 1210 turntables and a MasterSounds Radius 2 rotary mixer.
RECORD LABELS
Filly Brook co-owner Simon has been at the forefront of the UK independent music scene for well over 20 years now having cut his teeth at the Ninja Tune and nuphonic record labels in the late 90s, managed Z Records for 10+ years and has been running his own record labels since 2010. Over the years he’s also programmed the Lovebox Festival and worked in Specialist Music at BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
The two record labels he co-owns are based at Filly Brook so we’re always playing something new or some sounds from the past. Leng Records is focussed on developing and supporting new artists across the wide spectrum of dance music with a particular focus on sleazy, mid-tempo dancefloors. Spacetalk digs up the weird and wonderful leftfield music from the last 50 years, remastered and repackaged.

Triple threat drummer Richard Spaven is our in-house live music maestro bringing his insanely good drumming skills and those of his fellow musician friends to FB. If you’ve caught any of the live shows Rich has hosted with us then you’ll know what we’re talking about.
