Furnishing Futures creates healing homes that bring hope and dignity to women and children who have escaped domestic abuse and been placed in empty social housing. 

Furniture poverty is a devastating issue for more than 14 million people in the UK, and is a problem that is literally hidden behind closed doors.

Less than 2% of social housing comes furnished. For vulnerable women and children fleeing domestic abuse, being placed into empty social housing leaves them feeling worthless and compounds their trauma.

Buying essential items is also a leading cause of debt for vulnerable families, keeping them in poverty. Despite this, 22 million pieces of furniture end up in landfill every year, much of which is in new or as new condition.

This is why Furnishing Futures exists - a sustainable solution to two unsustainable problems. 

With an optional £1 added to each bill, our amazing customers will be supporting Furnishing Futures and the women and children that need this help the most. You can learn more about their work or get involved at www.furnishingfutures.org

Alongside raising funds for Furnishing Futures through adding £1 to each bill, we will be working alongside the local charity to host fundraising events, as well as showcasing their wares through pop-up stalls throughout the year.  Please keep an eye on our socials and events pages for more information on this!
