  • 392 Grove Green Road London, England, E11 4AP United Kingdom (map)

**SOLD OUT** - SIGN UP LINK >>> HERE

Explore the exciting, avant-garde world of experimental tape recording at Filly Brook, with our one-off workshop on May 8th.

A small group of 20 participants will learn about the techniques, process and history of music concrete, guided by Richard Greenan (Kit Records) and Robin The Fog (Howlround) on reel-to-reel tape machines, hosted by NTS radio’s Mr Beatnick.  We will work to create compositions and improvisations on these machines, to be shared at the end of the session.

“Music Concrete” is the terminology used to describe experimental tape manipulation and the use of household objects to create sound, popularized by artists like John Cage, Pierre Henry, Delia Derbyshire and Daphne Oram.

No musical background required – just bring an open mind, an interest in new sonic possibilities and a willingness to experiment.

The session runs from 7 pm – 10 pm.

Entry is free, but all participants must ensure they reserve a place by booking a free ticket via the RA to attend.
